Love Thursday - afternoon reading with mini eggs
The rain was coming down in sheets and it was blowing near gale-force winds as I left work yesterday afternoon. Determined I braved the elements and eventually reached my destination: the local supermarket. I was on a mission, and had one thought and one thought only on my mind. Mini eggs. I searched high and low, and just as fear started its descent I located them (in the aisle next to the one where I once saw Cate Blanchett) and I bought not one, but two bags.
Struggling against the wind and the rain I climbed the steep hill and eventually reached home, absolutely drenched. Opening the front door was pure bliss. I dried off, made a pot of tea; I grabbed my book, my mini eggs and armed with a blanket and several cushions I snuggled up on the sofa.
I love nothing more than a few hours alone with a good book, especially if it's raining cats and dogs outside. A pot of steaming hot tea and a cosy blanket are essential accessories, a bag or two of mini eggs optional extras. And desperately aware that I would today embark upon a mini egg-free 43 day challenge (my 38th birthday is only 43 days away…) their crisp sugary shells and rich milk chocolate insides tasted extra sweet yesterday.
Happy Love Thursday everyone!

my weakness is for the chocolate/peanut butter combo. lethal stuff of course, but I just can't say no to it.
Oh yeah, and I love those Lindt bars with cherry liquid inside!
If you stop smoking I'll send you some Reese's pieces :)
If I stop smoking, I won't even be able to eat this damned diet food.
Sounds like a wonderful day to me. That's just my idea of fun!
Ooooo. Mini eggs and a good book. What bliss!!!
You know what they say...Everything in moderation! (Including mini-eggs. Excluding smoking.) (Sorry smokers.)
Which begs the question...why give up the mini-eggs? Is there a certain birthday outfit that requires squeezing into?
I LOVE chocolate mini eggs!! Check it out: http://buttercupandbean.blogspot.com/2006/08/thursday-thirteen-3.html
Gringa... yes, I have this dress, which at the moment is a bit, well, a bit tight... So with that in mind, I am happy to forego the mini eggs for 43 days.
Buttercup... oh, that's cruel. Marabou mjölkchoklad... suddenly mini eggs have lost their allure (although I suppose that's the point). Nothing compares to the chocolates of my childhood.
I've never had these before! They look really good and with the first day of spring just a couple of weeks away, I think I'll hunt for them and then have them as treats for that special day.
with an offer like that, how can I refuse! :-)
Hi darling, I didn't realize that you were so young!!! I am like an aunty. lol!
I personally love marzipan and chocolate covered carmels and chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Oh and did I tell you I am a diabetic? No wonder my condition is not getting any better!
That sounds awesome. I almost wish it was raining here so I could do the same thing!!
Oh you're giving up mini eggs? Are they Cadbury ones? My daughter is mad for those. Sounds like a lovely day you had.
What a wonderful post :)
XO Sophie
Sounds heavenly! Let us know what you're reading if it's a page turner ;)
You have described an afternoon of pure bliss for me too...sigh...
Love,
D.
I am sure those eggs tasted wonderful curled up with a good book. I sometimes miss my pre-parenthood days where I would spend my entire week-end with my books...
what a perfect day :) and now i am craving those sweet mini eggs, oh my ...
Sounds wonderful. The trek to get the sweets making them that much sweeter. Happy LT.

Those things should be illegal. They are sooooooooooo nummy. I could eat them like popcorn, sadly.
Hello waspgoddess,
this is Natalie(Holy Chaos). I found you on several mutual blogs, so I thought I would come visit.
What a great day! I love those little eggs. my very favorite is the Cadbury creme-filled eggs. My sons think they are disgusting, but I have a highly developed sweet tooth, too.
What book are you reading?
